We start by first spending time to fully understand what is really needed and why.
Our next step is to do visual prototyping with screenshots to show exactly how the application will look and work. This is an important step that is skipped by most developers. We then review these designs with the client and ask for feedback.
After we refine our designs, we then commence programming.
We feel that our “design it right first” strategy sets us apart from most developers. These designs can be done fairly quickly. And they expose the ultimate users to a far more detailed design level than simply reading a business requirements list. As they say, “A picture is worth a thousand words”.

Process Optimization
If you have an engagement where you carefully study and document a client’s operations and then offer recommendations for optimization, you might want to consider this idea:
- As part of your study process, you can formally suggest that your client enrolls in EZCollab.
- We then set them up with an account and train their people.
- You then periodically go back to their office, study their task event logs to see how work is actually moving around within their organization. Using this valuable data, you can then fine-tune your operational models and recommend further changes.
Using this approach, you can provide a long term service to your clients through “canei” … continuing and never ending improvement.
